The District and Sessions Court, Bidar is situated in the prime area of the city. The court building is recognized as a heritage structure, constructed during the reign of the former Nizam of Hyderabad in the year 1328 Fasli, corresponding to 1938 A.D. Before the reorganization of states in 1956, Bidar district encompassed 13 talukas.
Following the reorganization, the number of taluks was reduced to five, namely Aurad, Basavkalyan, Bhalki, Bidar, and Humanabad. The Bidar Judicial Unit comprises several courts. In 2017, three new taluks—Hulasoor, Chitaguppa, and Kamalnagar—were incorporated into the Bidar district.
